Fishing grounds and diving reefs are nearby and the Inhambane reefs offer endless pleasures for scuba divers and snorkelers.More Info- Children up to 12 years old pay 50% of total rate- The lodge is 485kms north of Maputo on a very good tarred road until the last 7kms leading to the lodge which is gravel and sea sand. - Although guests have visited our lodge in a Citi Golf or a  Corsa Lite, a 4?4 or 2?4 with diff lock is highly recommended. - The road from Maputo has numerous villages & towns along the route and travelers need to be aware that it is important to adhere to the 60km/h speed limit where indicated.- There are daily flights from Johannesburg to Inhambane Airport on LAM Airlines. Water SportsFor water lovers a host of activities are available. The bay is ideal for hobie-cat and laser dingy sailing. Snake rides, paddle ski?s, surfboards, kayaks and boogie boards are just some of the activities available. We do encourage tag and release. MangroveThe saltwater Mangrove with crystal clear waters can be explored by boat, kayak or on foot. This ecosystem is made up of a fascinating chain of pioneering and sacrificial plants together with a huge array of crustaceans.Flocks of flamingo?s, local fish traps and stunning sunsets over the estuary make this a photographers dream.Dhow TripsTake a trip on a dhow and feel a great sense of history as the dhows are still built as they were in ancient times. This is something that must be experienced before this age old tradition dies out.Quad Bikes20 km guided trail offered by Barra Lodge. Quad biking through the coconut plantations opens new vistas and following the tracks and paths through these areas allows one to experience the real Mozambique while riding through local villages and into the heart of the country. These are guided and managed by Barra staff. Quad bikes and vehicles are prohibited from the beaches as we wish to preserve the rich and unspoilt marine life.Horse RidingA guided horse ride on the beach is a once in a lifetime experience.
