This house is situated in Umkomaas on the South Coast of Natal.We offer 3 bedrooms all with private bathrooms. Three king size beds and 1 queen size bed sleeping 7 or 8 people max in large sunny bedrooms all with sea views and pool views facing east. Two of the bedrooms have interleading doors for family flexibility.We are a TV free house by choice, preferring the art of conversation and good times. Essential sporting events can be watched at the quirky Chiefs Cabin tavern down the road, or at Sabastians restaurant in the Umkomaas village. Music is provided in the form of a B&O radio or bring your iPod. The owner's private suite is separate from the main house and is kept locked and off limits.The owner will not be present during guest stays, other than at arrival and departure to hand over keys and answer any questions.The Umkomaas/Widenham/Clansthal area is generally a quiet and sleepy beach and diving community with a scattering of small restaurants and bars to sample. The area mostly caters to scuba divers who come from all over the world to dive the Aliwal Shoal for its resident Ragged Tooth sharks and its majestic Tiger Sharks. The are regular Hump Back Whale breachings and dolphin sightings to be seen as well as Whale Shark migrations in December. The ever warm Indian Ocean here is a surfers' delight and the mountain biking in the Sappi Forests in the hills behind us are single track heaven, with sightings of bush buck and Fish Eagles not uncommon. The beachfront city of Durban is 40 km north of us for a day trip and the closest Game reserve, Tala, is about an hour away on the Umbumbulu Road, the drive itself a cultural experience. This is a great base for exploring the South Coast region with its many seaside towns and unspoiled beaches all the way south to the Wild Coast.We do not allow smoking inside the house, and we do not allow pets. Should a daily maid service be required, it can be arranged at extra cost to the guest. The unit will be cleaned at the end of your stay as provided by your cleaning fee. Check in is from 2pm. Check out before 10am
