In the heart of Maputaland, close to the pristine Lake Shazibe nestrling behind the world's highest natural dunes, a short distance from the sea, Sodwana Bay has been carefully designed to match the rustic eco orientated nature of the region. The warm Indian Ocean currents of the Mosambique Channel wash onto the shores of Maputaland, a timeless realm of astounding bio diversity and beauty. Here on the relatively untouched eastern seaboard of southern Africa, wide lakes and exensive river estuaries shimmer with life, fertile swamp and sand forest abound with rare and protected animal and plant species, while towering dunes shelter golden beaches from the lush interior.  

Venturing ocean wards, the seabed is bejewelled with coral reefs and formations of dramatic splendour, staging an unceasing pageant of every imaginable kind of marine life. Africa's renowned Big 5 - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard are complimented by a rich array of antelope and bird species. Here the Big 5 can become the prized Big 6 as humpback whales spout and gambol close to shore.

Sodwana Bay is located on the untouched eastern seaboard, where wide lakes and lagoons shimmer with life. Here you will find stretches of beautiful forest populated with rare and protected animals. This is one of the greatest sections of the South African coastline.

Here Africa's infamous big 5 become the big 6, where the humpback whale joins the majestic lion, rhino. elephant, leopard and buffalo.

Sodwana Bay is situated 5km away from the beach. The house are tastefully decorated and offer privacy as well incredible views. These picturesque views have you feeling like you can reach out and touch the whales swimming by.

This is a 8 sleeper consisting of 2 x double bed rooms with en-suite bathrooms, 2 x 2 single bed rooms with sharing bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and small bar area. Dining room combined with tv room, tv room with dstv, laundry room, daily maid and an outside deck with 8 seater table and deck launger. There is a equipped diving cleaning area.

A range of wonderful activities including fishing, quad biking,bird tours, canoes, scuba diving, whale watching, turtle tours and magnum fishing charters.

Sodwana Bay has much to offer when it comes to eating out. The restaurant Leatherbacks Seafood and Grill, boasts a varied menu, attentive service and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. 

For a more social dining experience, communal barbecues in a Zulu Boma (enclosure) have proven to be a most suitable alternative and are generally accompanied by zestful ethnic dancing. 
And for those to love to relax, hot and sunny afternoons can be spent at the poolside bar, where guests can swap experiences.
