BEACH ACCESS Kangela 14 is situated in the second row of houses from the sea, less than a 3-minute walk from the beach. A sandy pathway leads to an easy wooden walkway with very few steps. The walkway ends at a wooden gazebo situated on the beach. SWIMMING POOL The private swimming pool has no safety features. Use of the swimming pool and associated amenities and facilities is strictly at your own risk. Children must be supervised around the swimming pool at all times. MOSQUITO SCREENS The doors are fitted with sliding mosquito screens. Guests should keep the screens closed where possible to help prevent mosquitoes and other insects from entering the house. MONKEYS Kangela Estate is home to samango and vervet monkeys. Please do not feed the monkeys. Feeding encourages them to return to the houses and can create ongoing problems. Do not leave fruit or other food exposed on counters or tables. Food should be stored in the fridge or closed cupboards, and windows and doors should be properly closed when leaving the house to prevent monkeys from entering. HOUSEKEEPING & COMPULSORY STAFF TIPS The house is serviced daily by Maria, the housekeeper, and a gardener. The staff take care of the general cleaning, make beds, wash dishes and maintain the house and pool areas. They can also assist with carrying beach equipment to and from the beach. The following compulsory daily staff tips apply: Housekeeper: R150 per day Gardener: R75 per day The total compulsory staff tip is R225 per day. Staff tips apply to both the day of arrival and the day of departure. LINEN & TOWELS Bed linen and bath towels are provided. Guests must bring their own beach towels. COFFEE The kitchen has a coffee percolator and a Nespresso coffee machine. Guests wishing to use the Nespresso machine should bring compatible capsules. REFUNDABLE BREAKAGE DEPOSIT A refundable breakage deposit of R5,000 is payable. The deposit will be refunded within 14 days after departure, subject to there being no damage, breakages or losses at the property. LATE CHECK-OUT Late check-out is available on request only and is subject to the house not having an incoming booking on the day of departure. Where late check-out is approved, a fee of R1,500 will be deducted from the refundable breakage deposit. Late check-out is no later than 15:00. HOUSE & ESTATE RULES No pets are permitted. Loud music, parties and functions are not permitted. All guests must comply with Kangela Estate rules. No noise is permitted between 22:00 and 06:00. Failure to comply with these rules will result in a warning. If the issue occurs again after a warning, the full breakage deposit will be forfeited.
